La cuina és cultura i comunitat: a social Mafé

The local group in Barcelona from SEEds project met for a cooking workshop of a typical Senegalese dish: the Mafé! The team had all the necessary ingredients to have a good time; good mood, sunshine and a motivated group curious to learn about the Mafé recipe!

The recipe is simple;

* Start with a mime game (Taboo) to collectively think about what the Social and Solidarity Economy is and what the SSEds project represents.

* Extract the juice; cooperation, economy without money, sustainability, alternative, aid, solidarity, community …

* Then, dissect the recipe, understand where this typical dish comes from: the Mafé (or maafe) is a traditional stew or sauce (depending on the consistency) that is consumed in Senegal, West Africa. It is a simple peanut and tomato-based stew made with beef or lamb, served with rice. The Mandingo and Bambara peoples of Mali are at the origins of the Mafé, but it quickly became popular in Senegal and the Gambia. Due to the growth of the peanut industry during colonization in the 19th century, variations of the dish began to appear in West and Central Africa.

La cuina és cultura i comunitat. I si a més es prepara des d’un consum conscient i responsable és cuina sostenible. I això és el que va hem fet amb un grup de joves del projecte #SSEDs en el marc de les activitats de #Cuinemelcanvi i conjuntament amb Nexes Interculturals i CooperaSec.

Una jornada d’Interculturalitat i aprofitament alimentari per apropar a un grup de joves els valors de l’economia social i solidària a través de la cuina intercultural i de l’aprofitament alimentari.

Reflexionant a través de dinàmiques i jocs sobre l’#ESS i la diferència entre #cooperar i competir, recuperant la capacitat de cuinar juntes com activitat apoderadora de gaudi, utilitzant ingredients espigolats, rescatats de la brossa.

I preparant un plat africà, el Maafè. Tres continents al voltant d’una taula per arribar a la conclusió que la millor manera de fer cooperació internacional és apoderant les persones autòctones del propi país. Intercooperació directa.
